Put your best foot forward for an interactive evening of dance!

May I Have This Dance?  will provide you with a sample of what Toronto's queer partner and group dance scene has to offer.

Enjoy dance performances and demos, including a guest appearance by Ill Nana. Take mini lessons in salsa, square dancing, merengue, line dancing, and swing. Try out your new moves during the DJed sets of music, and once you've worked up an appetite from all that dancing, check out the bake sale.

This event is presented by LGBT Dance, Triangle Squares, Rainbow Ballroom, Toronto Wranglers, and Swingin’OUT.

Accessibility

• Wheelchair Accessibility: The 519 Community Centre is wheelchair accessible with a ramp at the entrance, an elevator to the second floor ballroom, and wheelchair-accessible washrooms. The 519 Community Centre also has gender-neutral and gender-specific washrooms.
  • PLEASE NOTE: The 519 Community Centre's elevator is currently TEMPORARILY OUT OF SERVICE. The 519 states: “Major repairs are required, and the expected date for return to service is Friday, June 13^th.” We will provide updates on these repairs as they are made available.
• Scent-Free Space: Please refrain from wearing heavy scents, often found in colognes and perfumes. Because you will be dancing in close proximity to each other, this is an accessibility issue for individuals with multiple chemical sensitivities or who are scent-sensitive.
• We regret that we are unable to provide ASL-English interpreters for this event.
• The 519 Community Centre has gender-neutral and gender-specific washrooms.

Safe Dance Space
Our dance clubs strive to provide a welcoming and safe space for all participants. For example, Swingin’OUT follows these guidelines. You have the right to refuse an invitation to dance with anyone and to stop a dance at any time.
